FAQ:
What’s included?
Just bring yourself! All travel from arrival until departure at the airport. No driving will be required.
Accommodation during the entire 10 days. This will either be in a local yurt, guesthouse, villa.
Full board meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
Guides, porters, and cooks.
Entrance fees to national parks & hot springs.
Workshop and masterclasses.
Not included: Insurance, flight tickets, tips for guides (optional), alcohol.
What should I bring?
Our team will also send out a brief on the recommended items and what to bring (for example clothing and such for the trip). I’d recommend that you opt for merino and wool as it does tend to get cold during the nights, especially in the mountains. During the day it can get as high as 30 Celsius and at night close to 0 Celsius especially at higher altitudes.
Do I need a visa for Kyrgyzstan?
90 countries are visa-free (including USA, UK, most of Europe) You can double-check on passport index!
Where will we be staying?
You do not need to arrange anything unless you come earlier or intend to stay longer! Accommodation will be in hotels, yurt camps/ home-stays and the overnight tent stay in the mountains.
How are the weather conditions?
The summer season especially during August is one of the best months to visit Kyrgyzstan, with long daylight hours and incredible golden hours at sunrise and sunsets. However, since we are trekking to higher altitudes (2500m+) it is wise to be prepared for cold nights.
What and where will we eat?
Mostly at local restaurants and cafes. During our trek, we will have porters that will cook. If you have allergies or any dietary requirements please let us know in advance.
Insurance and Health Issues
The 10 days of our trip do not have extremely difficult or dangerous routes. You will have to be in adequate shape, not an athlete but strong enough to hike for 7-8 hours. All hikes are either medium or easy difficulty. The toughest trip is the Ala-Kul due to the weather conditions and relief, but we will be well prepared and should not have any difficulty.
Before arrival, everyone should have adequate travel insurance just in case of freak accidents. Our team will be with you the entire time, but you are responsible for yourselves! You will be asked to sign a liability form agreeing that you accept the responsibility of all risks/injuries on this trip.
